New Straits Times reports:
"More than 50 per cent of the 3,052 respondents to a
survey carried out by the Malaysia AIDS Council (MAC) believe that women
with HIV/AIDS should not marry and have children.
The respondents were women and teenagers, and 55.3 per cent of them
felt that this should be the case, while 44.6 per cent felt otherwise.
The survey was carried out last December in the Klang Valley, Johor,
Kelantan and Penang.
Most of the respondents were struggling to answer the questions and
this reflected women's lack of understanding about those with HIV/ AIDS
and their rights, Universiti Putra Malaysia Nutrition and Health Sciences "
